Product Description
Nautilus's Pro Series elliptical trainers offer the most advanced technology available, yet are still remarkably easy to use. About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.

Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

GREAT WORKOUT
I love this machine. I have really bad knees and have tried out other types of elliptical machines, which cause knee pain 5 minutes into the workout, but with this machine 45 minutes just fly by. I could not believe how easy 45 minutes on this elliptical are. I also own a rowing machine and a treadmill, this is my FAVORITE!!! I highly recommend!

ProForm 8.0 Crosswalk Elliptical
It's a crosswalk, not a real elliptical (even at 22" strides position the "step elevation" is about 8"). If you like consistent stepping it's not appropriate.

It shows a good and sturdy construction for the price. The main crank is supported by sealed bearings (important): what a pity the other moving parts are supported by (noisy) bushings, otherwhise the rate would be 5/5.
It's not as compact as the advertisement would suggest (46" x 36" footprint): the real working area is about 36"W x 74"L and the weight (nearly 200lb) makes it difficult to move from the working area (2 persons are necessary or a tool to lift it).
It was a good buy from "iFitnessDirect" (free shipping and fast delivery): no problems.

Best Elliptical Trainers

One of the best pieces of equipment to own for workout is the elliptical trainer. It’s used these days instead of the treadmill, because they bring workouts of lower impact and they are quite effective for anyone that wants to train.

Stop Injuries to the Joints

The effect of the elliptical trainer. on your joints is something to consider when choosing the best option for you. Another thing is making sure that you will get the best cardiovascular workout that you need, to meet the training needs optimum for you.

The elliptical trainer can achieve that without having the need for other training equipment.

The price of the elliptical trainer. is another thing to consider when making a choice. Keep in mind the budget and the maximum price you can afford and respect it. You can easily go too far when you want to buy an elliptical trainer, because you usually want the best option available.

But some elliptical trainers can cost up to thousands of dollars, so you should be sure that you can afford that. Unless you are training to become a bodybuilder or a marathon runner, most budget elliptical trainers should be more than sufficient for most people. Budget elliptical machines usually cost less than $500 and should be quite affordable.

When you review training equipment, you should make sure they have features like handles for upper body training, adjustable incline, quiet operation, adjustable resistance and a stride length of around 21 inch. It should also have warm up settings and cooling off period as safety features.

Elliptical trainers with handrails aren’t usually considered the best ones. This is because handrails can prevent the user from having the best workout overall.

A warranty is another thing an elliptical trainer. should have when you buy it. A normal warranty should be 1 year for labor and up to 3 years for the parts.

A space saver, but.........
Bought this because it's a space-saver. I was not expecting too much, but this is a very bad elliptical unit. The limited range of motion combined with the irregular pumping action one experiences as you `cycle' through your steps make this machine a very, very poor choice for your supplemental workout (knees in particular). Better to spend an extra $100 - $200 and buy a larger unit that includes the moving arm-poles for a more total body workout. Something that gives you a smooth `ride' along with an adjustable stride. Several years ago, I bought a slightly more expensive machine with the desirable features I've listed above. It was big -- definitely not a space saver -- but it worked just fine and didn't cost a ton of money (sold it when I moved). I've learned my lesson and will be returning my purchase to Walgreens...and then start shopping for a better machine.

Great machine for the price
The only problem I had with this machine was that the elliptical did not come with a manual. We had to download one from the internet. It was also missing a couple of screws, but that did not affect the assembly. It took about 3 hours for my mechanically-inclined husband to put this together. It is very smooth and quiet during operation and also feels very solid. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but that doesn't matter to me. I was looking for a quality machine for under $1000 and feel like I found it.

Nice
I had one of the first in home elipticals and they've come quite a long way. This one was easy to put together - I did it by myself in a couple of hours. It has nice features and a smooth "ride". The only complaint I have is that the lowest level of resistance isn't very low so it's pretty hard for someone not in top shape and hard to take it easy without slowing to a snails pace. Otherwise, I like it and would recommend it.

Horizon EX-67 Elliptical Trainer - Good except ....
Horizon Fitness EX-67 Elliptical Trainer

Beautifully designed and constructed Horizon EX-67 Elliptical Trainer - It will give me healthy and fitness as the days goes by. Everything is OK, except one thing. This machine will generate a "Click" sound every cycle I step. It may happen from the cycling assembly. But I can't fix it.

Good Quality and Comfort
This was my first "big" fitness purchase. I have to say I am 110% satisfied. This elliptical gives me...and my husband a great workout every time each of us use it. I couldn't be happier!

So far so good
So far I love my stamina. It takes two people to put it together and don't lose any screws, because there are no extras, but, other than that it's been great. It really is very quiet so I can listen to music or watch TV without having to blare it. I've had it for three weeks and I can already feel my muscles and heart getting stronger.

Whisper quiet and built to last
It took a while to figure out how to put it all together, but it was all doable. I thought I was missing some of the screws but they were in a holding position in some of the parts, so everything was there. The "cosmetic parts" (pieces of plastic that cover the joints) were tedious to apply. Still, it was all worth it in terms of the finished product. The assembled unit is strong, smooth, and silent. I had tested several brands in sporting goods stores but this is superior in terms of strength, ride, and warranty. The display panel is nothing fancy. There are no major bells and whistles. No gimmicks. But definitely high quality unit that is built to last.

quality product
This elliptical trainer is designed and built in Germany and is rock solid. Even purchasing probably the lowest end product, it is quality built. The monitor was confusing and the directions are not the best, but it is not so complicated that we can't figure it out. The noise level is non-existent. The footprint makes it possible to put in any room. The warranty was one of the best I found. I will reccommend this company and their products to everyone.

Amazon.com Product Description
Burn calories and tone your entire body without leaving the home with the Weslo Momentum 630 Elliptical Trainer. The entry-level trainer boasts Weslo's creative Step-In design, which provides a lower base than other trainers, making it easy to get on and off the machine. As a result, the trainer is ideal for people who are rehabilitating from injury or who don't have the physical ability to easily hop on a traditional trainer. In addition, there's no need to manually step off the machine when you want to adjust the resistance; instead, you can quickly and easily adjust the difficulty of your workout with the touch of a button. And should you want a little workout variety, you can turn to the two personal trainer workouts, which automatically control the trainer's resistance level.

The trainer's LCD display tracks your speed, time, distance, calories, and more.
The Momentum 630 also makes it easy to monitor your workout progress thanks to the scanning LCD display, which tracks your speed, time, distance, calories burned, fat calories burned, and pulse. Other features include an Easy Pulse heart rate monitor that keeps you in the ideal HR zone, a compact footprint that takes up a fraction of the floor space of other trainers, a 250-pound weight capacity, and comfortable oversized pedals. The Momentum 630 carries a 90-day warranty.

Stamina Air Resistance Cross Trainer

Product Description
Stamina's Air Resistance Cross Trainer is an affordable way to work out at home on one of the most popular machines in the gym. Elliptical trainer workouts burn a similar number of calories as jogging but without the risk of injury to the back, knees, hips, or ankles. Since your feet never leave the pedals the Stamina Air Resistance Cross Trainer gives a low-impact workout that is easy on your joints. In fact, whereas jogging, jumping rope, aerobics classes, and exercising on a treadmill all require your body to absorb the force of impact, exercising on an elliptical can be compared to running in midair. Because ellipticals are so low impact and easy on the joints, they are also a good choice for older people or for individuals who have old injuries. Adjust the resistance to control the intensity of your workout. Turn the knob to one of eight resistance levels without interupting your workout. Elliptical trainers mimic the natural path of the foot, the extension of the leg, and the rotation of the hip during walking or running. This motion uses all the leg muscles, giving you a total lower body workout while the dual action arms work your upper body and let you increase or decrease intensity. Work your arms harder to tone and to burn more calories. The foot pedals can be worked in a forward or reverse direction. Resistance may be added as desired to increase the workload on your legs throughout the forward or backward stride to tone thighs and glutes.

WORKS JUST FINE- NO MECHANICAL ERRORS HERE.
Thought I would try this out thru amazon because it was so inexpensive. I paid for next day shipping and was shocked to see here it in just a couple of days. My husband put it together in less than 45 minutes. He had NO PROBLEMS (others said they had issues with the pedals and the belt etc...) I got on it and it works great. I am used to the nice Life Fitness Ellipticals at the gym - this is nothing like it. The stride seemed shorter. Like some others reviewed it IS more difficult to go longer on. At the gym I can easily do a half hour. On this I was panting after 10 minutes! Because it IS a smaller machine I feel it sort of "sway" when I am going really fast on it. I can hear the belt making sort of grinding noises when I am on it. I don't think this thing will last forever- nor do I expect it to. But as for right now it will do the trick. I am 5'3 and about 120. It doesn't have a "water bottle holder" which I often put my Ipod in. You can't lay it on the screen b/c it is tilted...so make sure you can tuck your ipod somewhere. ALSO... the texture on the pedals makes my sneakers slip off! Super weird. I can't wear any nike shox on this machine - they slip right off!! If you want an inexpensive machine to last a little while this would probably be right for you. It does make a little bit of noise...but not too much to wake up a sleeping baby! I have two and they sleep right thru it! I hope this was helpful!

DON'T BUY THIS!
The second time I used this machine the right pedal arm dropped off. The bolt holding it to the pedal is very short and made from a weak material that stripped immediately. With a stripped bolt you cannot reattach. From the other reviews, it sounds like its a nightmare trying to get replacement parts. The design has a flaw in the pedal arm. The part that moves as well as supports your weight is VERY weak. I did get a good workout the first time, however. But its a waste of time to assemble.

a very sad machine!
I purchaced this product and would not recommend it to anyone. You will most likely end up returning it, so why waste your time. Save your money and buy a better machine. I had the machine for 1 day, used it once, and it feel apart on me, and i'm not a real big girl I only weigh 130.

Need Engineer for assembly
I bought this for $199. I think the price reflected the lack of ANY pre-assembly. You need an engineer to assemble it. This is the first time I have EVER had to grease the parts to assemble. In fact the grease was in a small square plastic bag (not a plastic squirt bottle) that was opened and useless. I had to get my own grease. The box instructions had a front page suggested "professional assembly" for at least $120. This unit should have had some basic factory assembly. I am a capable person and it took me 3 hours of fairly hard labor. This huge time and physical commitment needs to be considered before buying.

Difficult assembly, but works well (so far)
Assembly was more difficult than with our previous elliptical trainer. It took me about five hours. The first hour I spent removing parts from the box and checking them against the parts list. In the process I found an extra short screw, loose in the box. The only short screws on the parts list were inside the pre-assembled frame, so I was forced to remove the side shields to ensure that the extra screw had not come loose from inside. This added about 10 minutes to my work.

Assembly was considerably hampered by one serious problem: The back end of the frame was badly bent, making it impossible to attach the rear stabilizer. I don't know if this happened at the factory or during shipping. With great effort, I was finally able to straighten the bent steel with the use of a 14-inch pipe wrench. Otherwise, I would have had to send the whole thing back and reorder. I also noted that the front of the frame and the front stabilizer were angled leftward about 5-10 degrees from the rest of the frame; this does not appear to affect the functioning of the unit, however.

After assembly was complete, I tested it out. At first, the unit made a loud scraping noise, and was somewhat hard to pedal. Having removed the side shields earlier, I knew that this was because the lower end of the "C" magnet was in direct contact with the flywheel. This didn't seem right to me, but I wasn't sure. After a minute or so, however, there was a "clank" from inside, the unit became somewhat easier to pedal, and the scraping noise ceased. Evidently, the problem corrected itself.

I have used the unit for about a month now. It is fairly quiet. It does wobble slightly on my carpeted floor, but otherwise seems to be working well. Time will tell how durable the unit is.

So far, so good!
Bought It a week ago, so far so good. Nothing but good things to say at this point. It's a great workout in a short time. I'd be surprised if anyone who hasn't been excercising regularly can do more than 10 minutes on this machine.

As far as durability and reliability goes, you get what you pay for. Any elliptical under 500 dollars is not likely to have great construction, however, if you monitor it's performance and do the proper maintenance at the first sign of a problem (strange sound or odd performance) then it will last you for a very long time. Just like with a car, if you ignore these signs, you will just aggravate the problem and break something.

I will update this review as time goes by, but I am confident that this machine will stay with me for a very long time.

Customer Reviews
In the interest of full disclosure
I would have appreciated knowing that the Ironman which manufactured the Ascender had gone bankrupt. This, of course, invalidates all of the warrantees. The cost of locating and shipping the power cord which was not included in my elliptical was an additional $59.00. The delay amounted to seven weeks. The trainer itself is wonderful, easy assembly, well-built, etc., but let the buyer beware.

Good machine, out of warranty
I spent a little time looking at different machines, and chose this one because it had good reviews, nice features, and an excellent price. I discovered the reason for the excellent price: the company that makes it has gone bankrupt, and all warranties have been rendered null and void by the bankruptcy court.

I had some difficulties in assembling the machine. One of the screw holes that attaches the handrail assembly to the drivers wasn't machined quite right, and I couldn't get the screw to cooperate. In attempting to get it right, I lost the screw into the hollow tube. The tube can be tilted back up to recover the screw, but that of course required removing the other screws that I had painstakingly put in (the one on the underside is a bit of a challenge). I did eventually get the screw in "good enough," and there are three other screws that help hold those particular parts together, so that should be fine.

Then the U-shaped section on the right handrail assembly that joins with the footpetal was just a *little* too narrow to allow the footpetal assembly to be easily attached. It was this problem that prompted me to call the company, and discover the whole bankruptcy issue. My two options were to pack the whole thing back into its original box (right!) and ship it back for a refund, or to fight with it a bit more and see if I could get it to work. After about an hour, I managed to get the parts joined satisfactorily (it was just a *little* too narrow, after all).

Then the screws that are supposed to attache the computer console to the machine were way too short to accomplish the job. They might be able to do it if they went down instead of up (the assembly diagram shows them going up), but there's almost no way I was going to get the screwdriver into the spot it'd need to be to do that. So I went to the hardware store for replacement screws. Then the holes in bracket on the console proved to be of a size where screws alone weren't going to cut it, so I went back for nuts.

The good news is, once the assembly was completed, it appears to be a very good machine. It runs smoothly and quietly. Its got some great features. Ultimately, I suspect I'll be happy with it. So I wouldn't necessarily recommend against buying this machine, because it's a very nice machine for the price. But I would recommend knowing what you're getting into if you do choose to buy it.

Great machine- too bad the company went out of business!
I bought this from Amazon (not that Bayou fitness place) for myself just after Christmas and have been working out on it for over an hour a day since... it's quiet and it's got the same "feel" as those $4000 ellipticals at the gym. I can get my whole workout done in the time it would take me to drive to the gym and back. I love being able to watch movies and TV shows on the built-in LCD screen- it makes my workout time go by SO fast.

Delivery of the machine was as expected- a HUGE box- and the biggest problem I had with assembly was getting the base of the thing out of the box (it's VERY heavy and well-made). If you're not a weight-lifter, you may need some help. I did notice the problem with the screws that someone had mentioned, but mine did have a bracket on the LCD part. I put two of the screws in from one side and two from the other and it is pretty sturdy (though a little wobblier than I would like)... I may get replacement nuts and bolts at my local hardware store eventually.

I am only slightly worried about the news that the company went out of business- and not upset enough to give this fantastic, well-designed, well-priced machine less than five stars. I don't really expect to need warranty service, and in any case, everything except the LCD is pretty much mechanical... I feel well-equipped to deal with any little squeaks or knocks with a screwdriver, an allen wrench, and some grease. I do wish the company had survived the present economic crisis, because it would be nice to have more exercise machines of this caliber available in this price range.

Great Item
It is a great item for the price. Works good. However, needs some assembly in the begining and tightening of the screws the first few days, otherwise it is a nice compact machiene.

I would not recommend Daytona Sports equipment!
"Trainer was not brand new, parts of the trainer were already together in box, large hole was visible and not caused from shipping, several dings and scratches on unit, the handles were already threaded from being put together and pulled apart. Daytona Sports would not process refund in a timely manner after receiving trainer back so Amazon had to step in to make sure I received my refund."

A Great Buy
This was a great buy for me. Ordered late on Friday night on a holiday weekend and got Tuesday morning. Super fast shipping. Fits in a small space. Put it together myself (and I'm just a girl:) in an hour and a half. The instructions aren't easy to understand, but I got through it eventually. Love, love, love this product. Didn't buy any lubrication with it, though, and I was kicking myself after a week. Needs it after a few uses.

Over-priced, but great product
Fantastic product. I have no room for an indoor gym in my condo, so this was the best solution by far. It's very easy to use and the instructional video was very helpful. As more companies make similar dumbells, the price should come down, but right now it's too high in my opinion, even though it fits my needs. I don't regret it, however.

Gotta have the 90's!
I love these dumbbells. I don't find them to be too bulky like other reviews stated. Standard 90 lb dumbbells are bulky as well. I already had them set over 55, which is why I went with the larger capacity dumbbells. (glad i did) They are worth the extra money! I have only been using them for a month so I can't comment on long term duribility.

A little bulky to use but they save alot of space
I bought these because I wanted to be able to workout at home and not have to dedicate an entire room to workout equipment. Plus I want to be able to bulk up at times to I got the set that goes up to 90lbs. For those reasons, they work wonderful and you get great quality with bowflex.

But there are a couple of downsides to this solution. Weighing 90lbs a piece, fully loaded, these things are bulky and that doesn't really change even at lighter weights. It takes a little getting used to. The grips are a little different because they are slightly square but I would guess that helps to stabilize them in your hand. I especially feel that when I am benching. So, I highly recommend gloves.

Overall great product but you need to be looking to save space with your workout solution for these to fit right.

Customer Reviews
Very good machine, feels like you're at a health club.
We ordered this as part of a new year's resolution. The delivery company is only obligated to drop it at curbside, so be forewarned. The driver was nice enough to help us get the huge box (about 8' x 3') in the house and we tipped him $10 for his trouble.

One of the reviewers mentioned assembly being a nightmare and taking 5 hours. That wasn't the case for us. I'd say it took us about 2 hours or so, but the whole process went smoothly and the instructions were easy to comprehend.

The machine has a 20" stride length, but that's plenty for us (I'm 6'1") and a lot of nice features. It keeps track of your pulse, has two built-in speakers and an input jack for your MP3 player. There's even a fan. Programming is a snap and there are two separate profiles that you can store your vitals in for ease of use.

Overall, we're quite impressed with it. Build quality is very good and it really compares favorably to stuff I've used at a health club.

Don't buy this
Don't buy this. I have a sole elliptical and it is noisy, i have had to have sole replace the bearings. Their support is good, and after the work the machine was ok for a couple weeks. Now, the machine is making a lot of noise again. This is very expensive. People tend to get pumped when they buy exercise machines, thinking they will use them for the rest of their life. Well, that is unlikely--and even more unlikely when the machine is noisy. Save your cash, join a gym you'll be much better off in the long run.

Was A Great Machine...For TWO HOURS! Then it went Kaput!
Believe the reviewers who complain about the instructions and the assembly. It took my husband and I 3 hours to put this together. Like another reviewer said, a good deal of that time was spent squinting at the teeny tiny illustrations and then hunting for a part we were told to screw on, only to find out it was already one the machine! Its obvious that they've changed the shipping configuration of the machine but haven't changed the directions to reflect this.

I loved the machine for the TWO HOURS I got to use it. Then with no warning, the incline gave me an error and I smelled something burning. The incline will no longer work after ONLY TWO HOURS OF USE! Do not purchase this machine. If you do, I hope you bought a warranty, you will need it. I am waiting for the company to come pick it up and refund my money.

Bottom Line: I'm sure its a great machine if you get one that works for longer than 2 hours. Had recommended it to my sister and 2 friends- had to call them and wave them off. Don't waste your money.

The pedals are not only extra large, but also feature a 2-degree inward slope that reduces the ankle and knee stress that's common in other elliptical machines.

Quality is bad, It is not worth to buy
I bought this product in January 2009 in Dick's Sports Store. This product was delivered to my home in 10 days. My husband and I only used this product for 5 times, it already created mechanical-problem sound from the wheel, which prevents us using it and ruins our passion to keep fit . We called Sole customer service about this issue, and they asked us to fill in service request form on website first. I did it. And they finally called me back in 10 days and told me that some parts would be sent to my home in 7 business day and somebody would come to my home to fix this problem in another 7 to 10 business days. So if you have problem with this product, it will take at least 30 days to have it fixed and it is no 100% sure that it can be fixed for the first time. This is the worst product I have bought in my life. $1300 is for 5-time-use. Now, I can't do anything but waiting.... and the machine is covered with dust and ruin our initial intention to purchase this item.

E35 Elliptical Review
Overall this is an excellent product. I tried several other brands but none had the build quality as the Sole. That being said, the motor was bad essentially right out of the box. The box arrived and the driver was great to put it into the garage. It is packed so tightly you have to cut the box away from it. It assembled pretty easily within an hour. I turned it on to try it. It worked fine. My wife got on and tried to increase the eleveation. She got a motor error and the screen wouldn't show anything else. It was just after Christmas so Sole was very busy. It took about 2 weeks to get it resolved. They sent the parts and scheduled a technician to come replace the motor. It has been working very well ever since.

Silent, Heavy but good. Service so so
I bought a model 2009 and I was not able to find the serial number in the machine. I need to contact support and they are not even answering my mails since I don't have a serial number even tough that is one of the reasons I'm contacting them. Grrr. The other reason I need support is that even though the machine is super silent you can hear some weird noise coming from the front like if something is loose or is touching something (i.e. friction).

Overall the machine is great though to my wife the resistance is too high even though it is set to minimum. Another question for support when they decide to answer my mail.

4 stars due to the bad service and due to the minor problems I had with the elliptical

Schwinn 431 Elliptical
Ordered Schwinn 431 based on previous highly regarded reviews. Amazon delivered on service and after 3 hours we were ready for a test run. This is a very easy to operate elliptical and quite smooth. I have been able to increase my workout with ease. The heart monitoring and easy programming are smart features. This is truly a bargain for those looking for a smooth, efficient elliptical that doesn't cost a fortune. Would highly recommend this to those looking for a value elliptical to tip them over the top to get on with preserving there health and fitness.

Great machine, pending issue........
I paid $749 through Amazon (with a $100 off promotion) and received the machine a week ago. (An earlier delivery date was somehow missed by the shipping company CEVA.) It initially took me about 2.5 hours to assemble plus additional time once I looked over my work and discovered a few minor mistakes. See assembly tips below.

I had to decide between the 430 and 431 and included some observations. Someone noted in a post that the 431 model might be built using a little thicker tubing although I didn't see them side by side to confirm. Schwinn claims the 431 is built for up to 300lbs versus 275lbs for the 430. The mechanics on the two models are the same with a 25lb flywheel providing great stability. In addition to holding more weight, the 431 has more upgrades of which a few seemed worth the extra $150 in my case....the padded pedals, backlit console, a bigger, user friendlier bottle holder (which will hold a lot of other things like a remote!), and added aesthetic touches. The fan is below average at best as it just doesn't produce much of a breeze. The 431 looks more high end than the 430 due to the covers on the arm pivots and underneath the console. They hide a lot of the welding work.

The machine itself is very sturdy and feels solid. I'm 6' 210lbs and it doesn't sway or move. Very quiet! The level settings give a nice range of resistence and options so you won't outgrow this machine. The smaller footprint compared to other makes and models is a huge plus if you have limited space. Also of note, the lenghth of the labor warranty is not 6 months as the description states but 3 months according to the Schwinn website and manual.

Overall, despite the mechanical issue noted below, I like the machine and it seems to be just want I was looking for. I'm torn on the rating because if the tracks weren't an issue, it'd be an easy five. I'll give it a five anyway. Customer service seems to be more than accommodating from what I've read from other posts.

When I contact and get a response from Schwinn, install new tracks, and put some extensive exercise time on it, I'll update the post.

AN IMPORTANT MECHANICAL ISSUE WITH MY MACHINE:
---For those who bought or are going to buy this or another model, take careful notice of how the wheels lay in the tracks (Schwinn calls them Extrusion Assemblies). I got on the machine facing backwards and wanted to make sure the wheels moved equally well. They don't on mine. I noticed even with my full weight on the machine, one wheel (the left one) on each pair didn't move with the same force as the other in it's pair
In exercise position, I can actually move the 2 wheels in question with my hand. This could lead to major issues in the future!!

I lifted the machine from the back as if I was going to move it and I can see one wheel of each pair is not touching the track. One of them is very high off and the other slightly. The one track actually looks like it is leaning left compared to the other. I reversed the tracks to see what would happen and the problem followed the track. The higher wheel is now part of the other pair.
After putting the machine down, I ran my fingers under the sides of the tracks and felt a distinct difference in clearance on the left side of the worse rail which confirms what I saw earlier......one track leans left! Hoping it is just bent tracks and not a frame issue, I'm going to call Schwinn and ask for 2 new tracks.
It's not the kind of thing that's noticable unless you look for it. I don't think the machine will sustain operating properly with most of your weight on 1 of the 2 wheels per side. It could also put strain on other parts.

Take a look at your machine!

A few points to keep in mind when assembling:

1. When you put the arm pivot rod on, it may take some hits with a hammer or preferable a mallet. As I hammered in, I noticed the black spacer coming out the other end so watch for this. It'll have to be put back in place. You also have to equal out the rod by eyesight.
2. When you put the black movement arm wire cover on, don't force it. One side snapped right into the pivot shoulder cover while the other just didn't sit well hitting one or more of the bolts. If you loosen the bolts holding the arms (there is some play there) and retighten it in a slightly different position, the cover should fit better.
3. When you attach the console, make sure you run the long wire though the center and run the fan wire up though the hole at the top and connect both wires to the back of the console. For those who's fans don't work, you may have plugged into the wrong connectors. I did this the first time and thought my fan was broken. Test everything before you attach the console. Save yourself time and aggrevation.
4. Like many, I used white grease where I thought it would help.
5. I didn't tighten bolts on movement parts all the way as this seems to eventually cause squeaks. I aimed for a quarter or have turn away from fully tightened.

Quiet and smooth.
Quiet and smooth. The instructions for assembly were clear and done in sections which made it easy for a novice like me to put together. From opening the large box to final assembly took me 3 1/2 hours. The Ellipitical looks great and is very sturdy. I researched ellipiticals for weeks before settling on this one. It is the best value and product for the money. Highly recommended.
